Boys Artistic Gymnastics

Boys artistic gymnastics consists of 6 apparatus: Floor exercise, parallel bars, still rings, vault, rings, pommel horse and high bar. In classes at Elite, we also utilize tumble trak and trampoline. Strength, coordination and flexibility are developed in a safe and fun environment while learning skills.

Floor Exercise

Tumbling is the most essential activity in gymnastics. More than any other sporting event, it requires a strong mastery of mind over body. Tumbling is the ultimate building block for developing power, speed, and coordination.
Parallel Bars
Parallel Bars are the newest of the men’s disciplines developed in the 1800’s. Originally they were used as a strengthening device to condition men’s arms for the Pommel Horse, eventually becoming their own event.

Still Rings
Rings require the greatest physical strength of any gymnastics event. The challenge comes in keeping the rings still while performing various swinging and strength skills.

Pommel Horse
The pommel horse is considered the most challenging of all men’s gymnastics apparatus. Why? Because it requires so many important qualities: balance, strength, flexibility, timing and circling the body in constant motion.

Vault

The vault incorporates  speed combined with sudden bursts of power. Beginner levels will learn how to punch the spring board and eventually learn how to flip!

High Bar

The most exciting of all the events, swinging on the high bar requires great agility and coordination.
