Ballet 1
Introduction to classical ballet-introduction of French words for ballet steps,
proper body placement, use of the feet, use of the arms, jumps, center balance
and strengthening steps, and traveling steps across the floor. Ballet is the
foundation for all other forms of dance. It is a string foundation to build upon.

Ballet 2&3
Ballet students with 1+ years of experience. Builds upon Ballet 1 and continues
with more difficult steps, combinations, turns, use of turn-out in the legs,
balance, poise, strength and flexibility.

Combo classes (Ballet-Tap & Ballet-Jazz)
Introduction to basic tap skills and rhythms as well as basic ballet positions
and steps. Training in remembering short dance sequences and combinations.
Good class for transitioning students from PreDance (or those students who
are new to dance) into the Graded levels of dance that follow.

Jazz
Incorporates warm up stretches, basic steps, combinations, turns, jumps,
leaps with many forms and styles of music and percussion. Builds upon
classical jazz technique, proper placement, and centering of the body. Many
different styles of jazz may be taught, depening upon the individual teacher's
experience and abilities, as well as the experience and age of the students in
the class.

Hip Hop
'Street Dance' ever-changing, multi-styled, expressive form of dance using
music of today. Movements and steps similar to those in music videos.
Innovative movements with no apparent technique more stylistic and
individualized.

Tap
Creating sounds and rhythms with taps. Tap technique, rhythms, and basic
steps are taught at the beginning level. Each level progressively gets more
difficult as the steps become faster, with smaller movements of the foot and
ankle. A variety of styles may be taught, from traditional to a cappella. Many
different types of music may be used, or no music at all, from Broadway musicals
to funky rhythms. Steps begin with single, double, and triple sounds, moving to
mutltiple combinations, reversing steps, time steps, syncopation, pull-backs,
wings, pick-ups, cramp rolls, paradiddles, flash tricks and turns.
